We keep only what Fennec needs to rank jobs for you, we never sell it, and you can ask us to delete it.

Who we are

Fennec is run by the Fennec team. Questions about your data go to fennec@omarlabs.dev.

  • Operator: [To be completed: operator legal name and registration]
  • Data protection officer: [To be completed: data protection officer contact]

You must be at least 18 to use Fennec.

What we collect

Your Google sign-in. You sign in with Google only. Google gives us your name, email address and profile picture. We store your Google account ID, email address and name. We do not store the picture.

The waitlist. If your email address is not on the beta list yet, we save your email address and name on the waitlist so we can invite you later. We do not create an account for you.

What you add.

  • Your profile: skills, job tracks and locations.
  • Your CV text, up to 100,000 characters.
  • The jobs you save, their tracker status and your notes.
  • The match scores Fennec works out for you from your skills.

Job listings. These come from public job boards. They are the same for everyone and are not personal data.

Visits. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. Vercel says it uses no third-party cookies and is designed to give only aggregated statistics that cannot identify or re-identify a visitor. For each page view it may record the page address, the referring site, the browser and device type, and an approximate location such as country and city. We do not use it to find out who you are.

Where it is stored and processed

Fennec is run from Egypt, but your data is stored and processed outside Egypt, by these providers:

  • Neon (a US company) hosts our Postgres database in Frankfurt, Germany (AWS eu-central-1). It holds all the account data described above, including the waitlist.
  • Vercel (a US company) hosts the site. Our server functions run in Frankfurt, Germany (region fra1). It handles the requests your browser sends to the site and provides the page-view statistics.
  • Google (a US company) signs you in and gives us your name, email address, profile picture and Google account ID.
  • Brevo (a French company) sends our account and job-digest emails. It receives your email address and the content of each message.
  • Anthropic (a US company) only if you connect Fennec to Claude. See the next section.

The staff of these providers may reach the data from other countries, including the United States, to support and run their services. Each account's rows are protected by database row-level security, so the Fennec website only returns your data to you.

Cookies and browser storage

  • A session cookie from Auth.js keeps you signed in. Short-lived cookies are also used while you sign in.
  • Your light or dark theme choice is saved in your browser's localStorage on your device.

Who else handles your data

Only the providers listed above. The Fennec team can access stored data when needed to run, fix or secure the service; we don't sell it or share it with advertisers. We do not rent personal data, and Fennec shows no ads.

Connecting Fennec to Claude

This is optional. If you choose to connect Fennec to Claude, Claude can read and update your Fennec profile, saved jobs and tracker through the access you approve, and can save a CV or cover letter for a job to your account. What Claude reads goes to Anthropic, a US company. You can revoke the connection in Claude. What Claude does with information it reads is covered by Anthropic's own terms and privacy policy.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, limit how we use it, object to its use, or revoke any consent you gave, at any time. You can also change your skills, tracks, locations and CV text yourself on the Profile page.

To use any of these rights, email fennec@omarlabs.dev from your account's address. We reply within 6 working days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Personal Data Protection Center of Egypt (pdpc.gov.eg).

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your account data until you delete your account or ask us to. A waitlist entry stays until you ask us to remove it.

Email fennec@omarlabs.dev from your account's address. We delete your account and everything stored against it, including a waitlist entry, and we email you to confirm when it is done.

If something goes wrong

If a breach affects your data, we notify the Personal Data Protection Center within 72 hours and email you within 3 working days of that notice, with what happened and what we did.

Changes

This beta policy may change; we'll update the date above. This page explains how Fennec works in plain language. It is not legal advice.
